History:

The Bishop of Uyo diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Ekuwem, in his letter no. Bo/ca/c1/009/12/00110 of December 5, 2009, joyfully invited the Capuchins to his diocese and assigned them to a parish within Uyo urban - St. John's parish, Abak road, with effect from January 1, 2010.

Since then the friars have resided in the parish house and served the parish community.

The property belongs to the diocese of Uyo. It is, therefore, the only house in Nigeria, at the moment, that does not belong to the Order.
